AI is already interviewing job candidates
AI is already interviewing job candidates, and it’s an utter humiliation for them |
A disturbingly high number of companies are now using AI tools to sift through resumes of job seekers. And if that was not enough, there’s a new trend where an AI also conducts interviews based on the queries fed to it by the hiring team. It’s already brutal out there in the job market, but the AI interviews are just worsening it. A new survey published in The Guardian says nearly half of applicants have been interviewed by AI, and the experience has been agonizing for multiple reasons. “I’m not even sure anybody watched the interview,” remarked one candidate, who was interviewed by an AI software and received a rejection email a week later. Some say it’s a humiliating ordeal. “I spoke in bullet points and keywords,” said another applicant, adding that they never talk like that in real life. |
